October 16, 2014 – an explosion destroyed fifty tons of ammunition at a depot in Vrbětice.
The total damages exceeded one billion Czech crowns.
Hundreds of people were evacuated.

Two Czech citizens were killed at the scene.

At first, the blame for the explosion fell on the victims themselves.
Shortly afterwards, however, another depot exploded — something that could no longer be explained as an unfortunate accident.
It then took more than six years for the case to be solved. Both explosions had been carried out by two agents of the Russian military intelligence service, the GRU.

For their actions, Vladimir Putin awarded these agents Russia’s highest state honour — Hero of the Russian Federation.

Three years later, these same agents pulled another black job in Salisbury, England. This time they used novichok to kill.

I am convinced that what happened
in Vrbětice is just as important as the poisoning of Sergei Skripal in Salisbury, carried out by the same “Heroes of the Russian Federation”.
British audiences got to watch a three-part TV series about the Salisbury incident a mere two years after it happened.

The project Black Job: Vrbětice combines a powerful subject with an ambitious cinematic approach. We have a clear vision, a completed screenplay, and an experienced team ready to bring the story to life.
To achieve the production quality that this historical story deserves, we are opening the project to partners and donors who wish to take part in the creation of an exceptional cinematic work.

As yet, no TV or film producers have managed to relate the Vrbětice incident in a feature film or television series. To make this happen, I need your support.
